If you require immediate treatment, the doctors we support do cater for their patients who walk into the practice without an appointment. The staff will discuss your situation with your doctor to determine the urgency of the appointment and prioritise accordingly.

For non-urgent walk in appointments, patients with pre-booked appointments with their doctor will take priority. Your doctor will see their booked patients first, then see their non-urgent walk in patients in between these times.

The doctors consulting from Mascot Medical and Dental Centre offer their patients standard appointments of up to 15 minutes. Some services that they offer to their patients such as health assessments, care plans (including mental health plans), skin checks, post hospital admissions, review of tests and medications or if their patients have a number of complex concerns to discuss may require a longer appointment.

The doctors we support will only give test results directly to their patients. Their patients will generally be asked to make an appointment with their doctor for follow up.

Medical Certificates can be provided by your doctor following a consultation, unfortunately they cannot be backdated. Please try to present early in your illness should you require this service.

Please ask the reception staff for a “Request for Transfer of Patient File” form.
As long as you have a pathology request form from your GP, you do not normally need to make an appointment for pathology, just come to the practice with your referral form. Appointments are necessary for some tests e.g. Glucose tolerance tests. These can be made by ringing Douglas Hanley Moir
Yes, you can. Mascot Medical and Dental Centre supports a number of doctors. If your doctor is fully booked or not in on a particular day you are free to ask to see another doctor that consults from our clinic – your new doctor will have access to all the records and notes made by your regular doctor.
As many medications can be potent if taken inappropriately, it is important to have your medications regularly reviewed by your doctor. If your doctor has never prescribed the medication for you before, or it has been greater than 3 months since your last prescription, your doctor will require you to book a consultation with them to obtain a prescription.
Nobody likes to be kept waiting. Our staff and the medical professionals we support understand this and endeavour to manage all appointments as punctually as possible. However, due to the unpredictable nature of a medical care – the doctors do frequently run behind time. The doctors consulting from Mascot Medical and Dental Centre regret any inconvenience caused to their patients due to these delays. Please feel free to contact our surgery staff before you arrive for your appointment to confirm whether your doctor is running on time.
It is important that you phone the practice immediately when you cannot attend an appointment with your doctor so that your appointment can be rescheduled and also allow that appointment time to be available for another of their patient's in need.
